The WITTEKOP (White Cap) is a beautiful blue white-capped male bred from the best racing pigeons of Gustaaf Cuypers, Hakendover, Belgium.  In Belgium, pigeons with this color designation on the head are known as a "wittekops" or white caps.  Consequently, 52409-09 is named the WITTEKOP.   Occasionally, the Cuypers pigeons will breed a pied or white-capped pigeon.  And, since Gustaaf Cuypers is deceased, there will never be any more of his wonderful pigeons available.  The Lamberton Racing Pigeons breeding loft in Tulsa is the only loft in the USA breeding from these outstanding pigeons. 

The Cuypers pigeons are similar to the pigeons of Antoine Jacops in that they are able to race from 100 to 600 miles (160 to 960 kilometers) in any type of weather.  In fact, the Cuypers pigeons cross very well on the Jacops pigeons.  In the 2008 young bird race series, 44435-08 was an excellent racing pigeon winning 1st, 2nd, 2 x 3rd prizes in 6 races which led to a 1st Ace Young Bird 2008 Award in the West Tulsa RPC.  The WITTEKOP was 1st Club, 1st Combine and 1st Federation (1035 birds) from 200 miles/360 kilometers on April 10, 2010 (RACE RESULT).  He was also 1st Ace Pigeon in the B (Unlimited entry) Series of the 2010 Old Bird Race season of the Northeast Oklahoma Racing Pigeon Federation.  He has earned an AU Championship #1820.  Hopefully, he will earn an Elite Championship during the 2011 Old Bird Race Series.
