Healthcare Managers

Health care is any activity intended to improve health.  Medicine is an institutionalized system for the scientific diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illness.

200 Years of Medicine

Life expectancy is estimate of average lifetime of people born in specific year.

Rates of illness and death are highest among the old and the young.

The Symbolic Interaction approach to Health states that Health and illness are social constructions: Physical and mental conditions have little or no objective reality but instead are considered healthy or ill conditions only if they are defined as such by a society. Physicians “manage the situation” to display their authority and medical knowledge.

Disability
refers to a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major activities that a person would normally do at a given stage of life and that may result in stigmatization or discrimination against the person with a disability.
